Gilston Road
We were invited to work on this spectacular six-bedroom semi-detached villa with the aim of securing a long-term rental tenant and the possibility of an eventual sale.
Firstly we proposed a minor refurbishment of the interiors to make it more attractive for potential tenants. This included painting, mending and fully furnishing the rooms to create a more warm and welcoming space. The owner lived abroad so the entire process was project-managed by the team at Russell Simpson.
Following the refurbishment, Gilston Road was put on the market by our short lets desk at £18,000 a week. Over the last eighteen months, it has been let five times in total. At the same time, it was advertised for long lets at £12,000 a week. It has recently been rented long-term by a family from Europe via our international relocation desk.
For a relatively modest initial outlay, Gilston Road has provided a substantial rental return. Given that it might otherwise been left empty, this was a rewarding outcome for both our client and the whole team at Russell Simpson.
