Prime Resi: Russell Simpson adds to growing lettings team

Long-standing Chelsea-based independent Russell Simpson has doubled the size of its lettings division with two new hires.

The firm has recruited Sarah Ward as Property Manager – who joins after a nine-year stint at South Ken agency Farleys – and former Parkgate man Harry Douglas as Lettings Negotiator.

Founded in 1979 by Alan Russell, the family-run business is based on Anderson Street in SW3 and focuses on the coveted Chelsea, Kensington, Belgravia and Knightsbridge patch. The lettings department was set up in 1990 and has flourished in recent years; the team has just reported achieving over £300k of rental income in the year to date…

Ali Champkins, Head of LettingsAli Champkins, Head of Lettings (pictured):“Russell Simpson is an independent agency, largely operating across Kensington and Chelsea. Both sales and lettings have always had a small but very active team, however, we feel that now is the time to expand the lettings team. This will increase the number of instructions we’re able to handle and will also give us the capability to move into other prime central London locations.

“Typically we take on a combination of houses and flats across prime central London, with rental values varying from £400 to £10,000 per week. There has been strong and consistent growth in the West London rentals market over the past few years and year on year we have consistently built up our number of instructions. Now that the team has doubled, we would like to capitalise on this to generate more business.”

Alan Russell, Founder of Russell Simpson: “After establishing the sales side of the business in 1979, we received a number of rental enquiries which led to us creating the lettings department. Ever since, the team has produced fantastic results and played a major role in helping Russell Simpson become one of the most established estate agents in West London.

“We have always taken pride in being a family-owned independent agency, keeping a small team that can provide clients with a unique one-to-one service across both sales and lettings. However, a recent surge in rental deals has led us to expand the team, bringing in two very talented individuals to help us keep up with demand.”
